ONTARIO GOTHIC (per Ontario Wind Resistance)

Ontario Gothic is a reference to Mary Shelley’s gothic story, Frankenstein, in a report by Rick Conroy in the Wellington Times, one that is very apropos the Industrial Wynne Turbine monsters.

If Shelley wrote her gothic horror story, “the work of a dark imagination fuelled by opioids“, Conroy naturally wonders, “what was Kathleen Wynne and her government smoking when they let loose their own man-made monsters across rural Ontario—in the form of industrial wind developers and speculators?

He reports, “Even if you buy the sentiment that their motivations were well-intentioned, the undeniable outcome of the Green Energy Act is that Kathleen Wynne and Dalton McGuinty have spawned armies of amoral monstrous corporate creatures and have let them loose to roam unfettered across the province. To wreak havoc in rural communities. To despoil the environment. To slaughter endangered species. To make folks sick“.

He goes on to observe how the McGuinty-Wynne axis (my description) has prepared the way for this by denying local democracy, by eviscerating environmental legislation to fast track developments what would otherwise have been rejected by local councils and defeated by existing laws. To put trademark its monster, the Ontario government has facilitated a rubber-stamp appeal process to ensure a blood supply to its monster (not to belabour a metaphor).

Near Chatham, folks believe the wind developer working nearby has poisoned their wells—allowing toxins into their drinking supply. They have done the testing. They have spoken out. They have protested. Marched on Queen’s Park. Kathleen Wynne has ignored them.“. Eschewing the name of, “Frankenstein” for their spawn (do doubt worried about copyright), they view it as a “necessary evil

Left without the protection of the province—without the safeguards that would protect them from any other development— these folks took matters into their own hands. In August, they began blockading the construction site— neighbours joining together to form a line against the threat to their drinking water.“. The Wynne-lose government, turns out, were able to rely on their legal cronies to set matters right: “…in a cruel blow, the developers— a Korean conglomerate and its American partner—won a court injunction barring any further blockades of the project. The judge said he wasn’t trying to muzzle opponents, but to “prohibit unlawful acts”.” Guess who pays the Judge”s salary?

The horror is on-going (a McGuinty-Wynne Serial), “Untethered by moral, ethical or community concerns, these corporate beasts consume and ravage everything they can get away with. Folks who have fought for years to protect the things our government was supposed to safeguard, have been left gasping in despair. Lacking legal remedies or protection, some have begun considering other means to protect their families, their communities and their land. If the government won’t protect them, they will do it themselves“.

Hydro Rates, Birds, Setbacks

Ontario power rates have never been higher and yet power never this cheap to generate:  The more the wind blows, the bigger the losses and the higher the hit to consumers.

Study asks for 18km setback from lakes (rivers?) My, what and idea… a long time coming!!!

Ministry does not have to collect carcasses after three years. Dereliction of duty, or what!?

Wynne Turbine Carnage Continues

Health Officer [Dr. Janice Owens]  Dismissed:
One of the health unit’s initiatives since her appointment has been a study of the possible health effects of wind farms in Huron County, which has some of the largest turbine installations in the province.
Hessel [Mayor} said Owen’s departure was unrelated to the wind farm issue and that work would be carried on by health unit staff.

BTW, the last HO was also dismissed…  Is the Mayor on the take?  Oh, sure, not related! In a pig’s patootie!

“The color of sleaze is no longer black, rather it is green.”

German magazine, Der Spiegel, has turned a spotlight onto Germany’s “Green Sleaze”, the Wind Industry’s corruption of the environmental movement and local politicians:

“Enoch zu Guttenberg, one of Germany’s most prolific environmentalists has become an outspoken critic of wind energy in Germany, and believes children in the future will be able to see Germany’s idyllic landscape only in paintings as developers clear hill-top forests to make way for skyscraper-size industrial wind turbines.” by Pierre L. Gosselin.

“The environmental movement has become so disunified, Spiegel writes, that once diehard nuclear energy opponents have now switched to protesting wind turbines, as many planning boards ignore concerns of the citizens and attempt to steamroll projects through against the public will.”

Sound familiar, the attempt to steamroll projects through against the will of the people? Just like the Wynne Industry’s Green Sleaze?
“This is how it works at many communities, Spiegel describes. Often the nearby residents and citizens pay heftily through lost property values, health issues from infrasound, and high electricity prices. Invariably only very few benefit at all.”

So, Ontario is not unique: it has also Green Sleaze, and Gas Sleaze, Political Fund raising Sleaze, Climate Change and Carbon Tax Sleaze, and a GTA that will vote the “Sleazers” back in.

Huron County Board of Health

The HCBOH will start an investigation on the effects of Wind Turbines: Valerie Gillies, Goderich Signal Star:
The [media] release stated, “This is the first county health unit investigation, in Ontario, regarding industrial wind turbines, where the affected resident’s health complaints will be tracked long term.”
Furthermore, “Dr. Owen stressed that this is not a research study. It is an investigation. It will not prove causality. The HCHU is required to do an investigation when there appears to be a community environmental health issue. Due to the number of complaints the HCHU is receiving from the community, they believe they must do an investigation. The Health Unit is not making a judgement on wind turbines with the survey. They are only investigating whether there is a potential population health hazard.”

Wind Turbines and Broken Wings

Quixote’s Last Stand advises us of a new website devoted to the problem of bird deaths and Industrial Wynne Turbines>: Birds and Blades, aka, Broken Wing is also a book that details the epidemic of bird kills by turbines. The book outlines 5 positions on the issue of bird deaths and turbines:
1.Wind turbines are an ancillary source of power generation.
2.Avian deaths are unacceptable results of wind turbine growth.
3.Alternative technology solutions are abundant and available.
4.Government mandates distort the wind market.
5.Human illness and death are direct results of wind energy.

THE HUMAN FACE OF WIND TURBINES

We are adding a new link to our Blogroll:The Human Face of Wind Turbines.

An excellent site to peruse the real damage to health caused by the Wynne Turbines.
The site’s owners have incorporated important links in their homepage banner:

Wind turbines harm the health of people, pets, and livestock.
Ontario doctors want you to know the truth.
Ontario’s rural communities are suffering.
Help spread the word.

West Lincoln

West Lincoln asked to collect noise data. [WCO Blog] Niagara This Week, January 13, 2016, story by Amanda Moore.

With some of the largest industrial wind turbines in North America rising from the rural West Lincoln landscape, two citizens groups are asking the local government to begin monitoring noise.
“We want the township to appreciate the scope of the risk we are about to run with one of the largest wind projects in North America next to such a densely-populated area,” said Mike Jankowski, chair of the West Lincoln Glanbrook Wind Action Group (WLGWAG), which made a joint presentation to West Lincoln’s planning, building and environmental committee Monday with Mothers Against Wind Turbines (MAWT). “There are some risks that aren’t mitigated and we require the township to start collecting data both before and during the turbines.”

MAWT, specifically, has concerns with numerous changes to the NRWF project currently under development. The Township of Wainfleet has sent a letter to Ontario’s minister of energy questioning why there was no public process on major changes to the project. Both groups pressed West Lincoln committee to send correspondence to that same effect to the province.
“The township should press for answers,” said Jankowski.

HORSE MANURE

One of the main, if not the defining one, reasons for Green Energy is the Climate Scam (based on normal changing weather patterns as interpreted by all the (rich) Chicken Littles of the World). As a result, Ontario suffers terrible economic, social and medical problems because of Green Energy and we all suffer under this heavy load of Horse Manure (Goldstein, Toronto Sun). A heavy load dumped by Canada’s new Boy King and the Wicked Witch of the East, his fairy godmother:
Wind and solar power are simply not ready to replace the use of coal, oil and natural gas to produce energy. [and hydro & nuclear]
They aren’t reliable or efficient enough to deliver the power required to fuel modern industrialized countries like our own, or developing nations that want to become part of the first world, like China and India.
[and let us not forget the Towers of Power require diesel engines to run}

But we know this already, those of us who rail and demonstrate against the Whirligigs of the McWynne Mandate. It bears repeating, over and over again. And there was a similar scare in 1898:
…the Chicken Littles at the Paris conference should remind us of another gathering of similar worthies at the world’s first urban planning conference held in New York in 1898.
Back then, the delegates weren’t obsessed with fossil fuels but with horse manure. Literally.
In New York in 1898, 200,000 working horses each produced an average of 24 pounds of horse manure daily, meaning almost five million pounds of manure were being dumped on city streets every 24 hours.

The stuff was piled 60 ft high in city streets, and then came the electric street car and the gasoline engine to save the day (and eliminate the health problems posed by that much horse do-do). Science (not the bogus consensus “Science” of today’s climate crap), it is hoped, will save us from the Manure excreted at the Paris Conference and the regular dumps made by the UN. And let us not forget the BS and horse manure that passes for government in Ontario…
