Hydro Cable Under Lake Erie

To carry Ontario power to US, mostly Green Energy. Watch video CTV Report starting at minute 1:00
Ontario Hydro Sells Green Energy cheap.

So, Ontarians pay through the nose for Greed Energy generated by Industrial Wynne Turbines, while the US can buy it at a DEEP discount.

Of course, if they had to pay the real cost, they wouldn’t and we’d be stuck with unusable greed-generated energy.

Brant County Being Set Up

Brant County is being set up for Scam and the Green Lie!  Samsung wants to talk the County into a partnership.

Brant to Get the Green Wash (Michael-Allan Marion, reporting)

Here’s some links to info on Samsung and their particular brand of service ot the community”:
WCO
OWR.

BRANT, beware, you are being conned to join in the Wynne-lose game that costs taxpayers billions and keeps power rates in Ontario at an unprecedented high!
Samsung is selling Green Illusions and peddling the Green Lie! EASY to do, of course, when the provincial government is paying you to do it!!!

Samsung gets to keep the profits provided by Ontario Taxpayers (Green Energy does NOT, cannot make money, so the profits are provided), AND Ontario sells off Green generated power at less than the cost of production to jurisdictions outside of Ontario and Canada. It’s BUDGETING, the Ontario way!

“The color of sleaze is no longer black, rather it is green.”

German magazine, Der Spiegel, has turned a spotlight onto Germany’s “Green Sleaze”, the Wind Industry’s corruption of the environmental movement and local politicians:

“Enoch zu Guttenberg, one of Germany’s most prolific environmentalists has become an outspoken critic of wind energy in Germany, and believes children in the future will be able to see Germany’s idyllic landscape only in paintings as developers clear hill-top forests to make way for skyscraper-size industrial wind turbines.” by Pierre L. Gosselin.

“The environmental movement has become so disunified, Spiegel writes, that once diehard nuclear energy opponents have now switched to protesting wind turbines, as many planning boards ignore concerns of the citizens and attempt to steamroll projects through against the public will.”

Sound familiar, the attempt to steamroll projects through against the will of the people? Just like the Wynne Industry’s Green Sleaze?
“This is how it works at many communities, Spiegel describes. Often the nearby residents and citizens pay heftily through lost property values, health issues from infrasound, and high electricity prices. Invariably only very few benefit at all.”

So, Ontario is not unique: it has also Green Sleaze, and Gas Sleaze, Political Fund raising Sleaze, Climate Change and Carbon Tax Sleaze, and a GTA that will vote the “Sleazers” back in.

Multi-Billion Dollar Boondoggle

“Queen’s Park is betting heavily that conservation programs will provide an effective and low-cost means of managing power needs in the coming decades,” they write. “Unfortunately, Ontario energy plans rely on unsubstantiated and overly-optimistic claims. We closely examine(d) the analyses behind the province’s ‘Conservation First’ plans, and find either an absence of credible data, or overly-optimistic numbers based on methodologies known to be unreliable.”, Toronto Sun, Lorrie Goldstein column.

The authors of this observation are Tom Adams and Ross McKitrick, in their report, “Demand Side Mismanagement: How Conservation Became Waste”, wherein they also say the Government’s official propaganda about spending billions to save billions more, when challenged, met with this answer: “The government replied “external financial audits were not performed on these programs,” and the rest of the information given was too vague to assess the government’s claims.”

Industrial Wynne Turbines are a wonder to behold, a boon to the province and a comfort to consumers.  The wasted billions will go down in history as a testament to the Wynne-lose Government’s “competence.”

2019

In Canada, Energy Poverty Rising [Goldstein, Toronto Sun]: “…more than one million households now spending more than 10% of their incomes solely on electricity and home heating fuel.” To be sure, in Ontario, it will continue rising until 2019.

Furthermore, “These numbers will rise in coming years as Canadian governments pour ever-increasing amounts of money into expensive and unreliable green energy projects such as wind turbines and solar panels, as well as introduce carbon pricing.” Not to mention the brazen cash grab all governments in Canada will make in the name of a Carbon Tax, in a country that is practically speaking carbon neutral.

“Meanwhile, in Ontario, Premier Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government estimates the cap-and-trade carbon pricing scheme it will introduce next year will add $156 annually to the energy and gasoline bill of the average household in 2017 alone.”

Goldstein suggests mitigation of energy poverty by making sure that “100% of all monies raised through carbon pricing, which increases taxes and prices on consumption, will be returned directly to the public in income tax cuts and grants to the poor.” It would be a start, but in Canada and Ontario, it ain’t gonna happen, it would be too politically incorrect and impractical for governments that can’t/won’t balance their budgets because of the Left Wing obsession with the panacea of Deficit Financing.

Ontario Green Energy

…policy and law are the child of a failed and false myth called, Global Warming.  An Ontario premier and an Ontario Cabinet minister decided they wanted to leave a legacy, the one for posterity, the other for political advancement.  Both are gone, but what they have wrought is still here, still wasting hundreds of millions of dollars and costing people their health, their wealth and their wellbeing.

Lawrence Solomon writing in the Financial Post (Jan.09/15) makes his predictions for 2015: “The global warming enterprise provides one example. Since 2008, I have been predicting that the warmists, whose cause at root is based on faith and sustained by deceit, will fail to make the case that carbon represents a danger to the planet. Although the elites have mostly bought the deceits — all ultimately resting on jigged computer models — the masses mostly have not, as seen in public opinion polls throughout the world. The public’s rejection of the global warming orthodoxy then led politicians to slash subsidies to renewables and to scrap plans for carbon taxes. Political parties that high-handedly ignored the public by pushing global warming measures, such as Canada’s Liberal Party in 2008 and Australia’s Labour government in 2013, went down to crushing defeats.”
“As renewables lose momentum in 2015, fossil fuels will gain it. It can’t really be otherwise. If the glut we now see in oil and gas continues, the low prices that result will spur consumption. A rise in prices, on the other hand, would only further spur shale gas and oil development. Up or down, I predict, the environmental lobby loses the energy war, even if — should President Obama veto the Keystone XL Pipeline — it wins some battles.”

Thanks to this politically correct fiction of Global Warming, Ontario and its citizens continue to pay for the vanity of the original formulators of the province’s Green Energy illusions.

OntariOWE

Ontario Rings in the New Year with a 12 million dollar hangover [WindConcernsOntario]:
Once again Ontario’s oh so generous ratepayers, ushered in the New Year by treating our neighbours to some very cheap electricity. We were much nicer this January 1st than last year, as we exported a record 87,000 megawatt hours (MWh) at a bargain price. That sale generated revenue of about $275,000 to offset a small part of the costs to Ontario’s ratepayers. We exported 38,000 MWh more (+ 78%) than on January 1, 2014, and a year ago we generated $1,450,000 for the smaller number of MWh sold. Parker Gallant.
Happy New Year New York and Michigan:
In total, January 1, 2015′s generation cost Ontario’s ratepayers $7 million (net) for wind, another $400,000 for curtailed wind, about $1.2 million for steamed off nuclear, almost $1 million for “embedded” wind and solar and about $3 million for the Net Revenue Requirement for those idling gas plants.

No Fit After FIT?

Plans to build wind farms in England and Scotland are being scrapped in the first sign that the Government’s proposed cut to subsidies is taking effect

That’s the headline in the UK Telegraph newspaper (Ref. from NA-PAW):

Developers are abandoning plans for new wind farms in Britain because they are “no longer financially viable”.
The decision to scrap the wind farms is the first evidence that the spread of turbines across the country is being halted. It follows a radical overhaul by the Government of the consumer subsidy, worth more than £1 billion a year to wind farm owners.

Will Ontario get the message?  The PC Opposition in the province has promised to ditch the Feed-in Tariff programme “that allows homeowners, business owners and private developers to generate renewable energy and sell it to the province at a guaranteed price for a fixed contract term”.  The unpublished addendum to that gov’t blurb is, and pays them NOT to generate power. BUT, let’s hope the promise of no fit for FIT will not mean the same in Ontario as it does in UK:

Wind farms facing the axe are likely to be ones completed after 2017 when owners will be forced to bid for subsidy from a limited pot of money. The successful bids will win subsidies at reduced rates.

Let’s hope Tim is not so dim as to fall for this work-around.

Folly Green Giant

A clever pun by Christina Blizzard of the Toronto Sun Newspaper; and, also, a very appropriate one! She says the giant is “smothering the voice of rural Ontario”:
That’s the only way to explain the complacency urban residents have for the desecration of rural Ontario.
Politicians from small towns across the province came to Queen’s Park Thursday demanding the Kathleen Wynne government return decision-making to the local councils.
The Green Energy Act stripped local politicians of any say in the siting of wind and solar farms in their communities.

So, if urbanites are complacent about the destruction of rural Ontario, what’s happened to all the Greenies who usually live in the cities? Why aren’t they out protesting this destruction?! Why? Because the saint of tainted causes, David Suzuki, hasn’t raised the rallying cry for them. In fact, his organization has done the opposite by joining the forces of the nutbar failed scientists who are proclaiming the deleterious effects of turbine power is “all in your head” (Quixotes has a great picture of the saint with outstretched arms delivering his sermon from the lectern – the man has abandoned science).

Voila the horrible cost of Green Energy and the huge rises in the cost of power to the consumer. And worse yet, Ontario Liberals and the NDPee have defeated MPP Lisa Thompson’s Bill 39 to restore affordable energy by curtailing wind power and restoring local democracy. This, of course and unfortunately, was a foreseeable result. The real hypocrites here are the NDPee (whose CAW turbine continues to blow an ill wind).

The Folly Green Giant is marching on, as Blizzard writes, aided and abbetted by the Minister Of Agriculture, Ms Wynne-lose:
Here’s the truth of what’s happening: It’s not Alberta and the price of oil that’s killing jobs here and hollowing out the economy. It’s our own home-grown government that has bungled the electricity file at every turn.
They spent $275 million to scrap a gas plant to save a couple of seats in Mississauga.
Rural Ontario, meanwhile, bears the brunt of their folly green giant.

High power rates are killing jobs and industry in Ontario, as reported by the writer:
A chemical company was about to expand rubber production in a neighbouring municipality, but decided it can’t justify the cost of electricity compared to the U.S. (Enniskillen)
In the legislature, PC Leader Tim Hudak talked about a Niagara food packaging company that compared electricity costs here with their plant in Texas. It’s 69% more here.

Ironically, the home of the Bruce Power Plant (Kincardine, Tiverton), is slated to receive 100 more Turbines in addition to the 118 that already bristle in the region, where the drop in coal power generation corresponds to the output of the refurbished Bruce Generating station and has absolutely nothing to do with wind and solar power generation – now, there’s Irony for you!!!
